One Year Anniversary of Diabetes Diagnosis

I had a note in my diabetic journal (where I track my glucose readings) to remind me that today is one year since my diagnosis of diabetes. My A1C was off the chart a year ago with glucose of nearly 500!

I am only controlling with diet and exercise at the moment. My last weekly injection was April 19, 2022.

This morning my glucose was 111. My doctor wants me to keep it between 90 and 110.

I mowed the lawn yesterday and ate a lot for supper afterwards. I even had two peppermint patties for dessert. I am sure my diet otherwise, plus being more active with warmer weather, plus the hard work of mowing super tall grass due to all the rain made the difference.

I go in for my one year check up on Thursday, May 19, 2020, so one week from today. I’ll find out what my A1C is and learn if I am off meds or if they will put me back on a weekly injection.
