1st Semi-Annual Post-Op Visit

I got busy and didn’t update this right away. This visit was on March 14, 2022. I was nervous about my PSA being at 0.02 after being undetectable. My urologist was reassuring and told me that there is no immediate cause for concern. Some men have a detectable amount of PSA and that it flatlines at that level or goes back down. As long as it is flat-lined or goes down, all is well. Since is it detectable I will have a follow up in September and instead of going to annual PSA tests, I will stick with semi-annual PSA tests for the next year, or perhaps longer.

If my PSA hits 0.5 then that is bad, but that is a huge increase from 0.02 to 0.5. If that should happen, then I’d be looking at radiation treatments which are like daily for I think he said six weeks. I asked that just to have in mind what I’d need to plan for should that occur.

So a huge relief!
