I had my 3 month follow up to being diagnosed with diabetes. My AIC was 14 at diagnosis, today it is 6.2! That’s considered pre-diabetes. Below 5.7 is normal. My albumin/creatine levels and ratio are in the normal range. That’s where they check your urine for excretion of proteins. Above a certain level it indicatesContinue reading “Diabetes Update II”

Diabetes Update
Today is three weeks since I was formally diagnosed with diabetes. Tomorrow before supper marks three weeks since I started insulin. The past three mornings my blood glucose is finally under 130. The max for a fasting blood glucose is 130 to be considered OK. It has had a marked improvement in how I feelContinue reading “Diabetes Update”
Answers To Low Energy
I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine three weeks ago yesterday. Other than point tenderness at the injection site, I didn’t have any issues. Of the issues I did have, how do I tell joint pain and other symptoms from my usual joint pain and seasonal allergy symptoms? That is something several friendsContinue reading “Answers To Low Energy”
Relationship Advice
This is good advice. Advice I could have used ten years ago. I got divorced (I initiated it) after almost 20 years. About a year after separation and about 10 months after the divorce, my ex came out as a lesbian. (That was confusing, but explained a lot.) I’ve had one relationship since then. ThatContinue reading “Relationship Advice”
First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine
On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, I had my first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The system in Michigan requires you to be proactive and locate a place to get it. I was given the impression that the hospital system my doctor is with would let me know when and where I could get vaccinated.Continue reading “First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine”
First Yard Work of the Season
I had a couple of huge, nearly dead maple trees taken out of my front yard to avoid them falling on the house. This didn’t happen until January. I tried to get it done last Fall but they were backed up. They hauled off all the trees. The crewmember who was supposed to do theContinue reading “First Yard Work of the Season”
First Bicycle Ride Since Surgery
I had some work done on my truck last week and over the weekend. I got a call that it was ready for me to go get it. And of course, pay my bill…. Since my son and daughter-in-law were not at home, I decided to ride my bicycle. It’s about 3 or 4 milesContinue reading “First Bicycle Ride Since Surgery”
Second Quarterly Blood Draw
I went for my second quarterly blood draw, yesterday, February 25, 2021. I had the results hit the web portal for my urologist overnight. The results match the first blood draw after surgery, undetectable. This is excellent! I see my Urologist on Wednesday, March 3rd to go over the results.
My Fitness Routine
Here is my new fitness routine at 56 years old and 5 -1/2 months after prostatectomy. I keep adding small improvements so I am more likely to make them habits. I cut out soda before Christmas. (I just didn’t buy more once it ran out.) – This alone lead to weight loss. Diet soda (actuallyContinue reading “My Fitness Routine”
Push Ups
I’ve limited certain types of physical activity to avoid incontinence issues. This morning, first thing out of bed I did ten pushups and stayed dry! Of course, I woke up 30 minutes before that to go to the bathroom and couldn’t get back to sleep. Now I no longer have excuses to do pushups, planks,Continue reading “Push Ups”
