No acetaminophen last night, and no pain this morning. I woke up once to go to the bathroom. I then slept hard and had trouble waking up this morning. My exercise watch says that I got seven and a half hours sleep.
I’m feeling fine and ready for the day. I have to get the oil in my truck changed at 11:00 AM. No other plans for the day other than work, walking, and personal projects after work.
Blood in Urine
This has been going on for the last four or five days. Sorry I didn’t mention it sooner. The internal incisions from bladder reconstruction are releasing blood. This is OK as long as the urine color is like pink lemonade. This could continue for a few weeks after surgery.
It leaves a discolored, brownish spot on the urine pads, or the disposable underwear. Drinking plenty of water helps flush this out. I haven’t noticed any blood clots since I got the catheter out.
Incisions
My incisions are less tender each day. Only the one to the right of my belly button, just above its level is tender, and still feels like there’s something (stitches) under the skin. The others are well along in the healing process. The tightness in my abdomen is fading. In general, my abdomen is relaxed and loose.
Progress
I got a few more things done at work and at home. I got a call from the insurance broker for my homeowners insurance, and he can massively beat what Progressive wants, and it will make my homeowner’s insurance go down if I move my auto insurance from Progressive.
I logged into my health insurance portal and the large amount outstanding for my surgery should be covered by my policy as I’ve hit the maximum for out of pocket. I suspect that the insurance company is trying to get away with paying as little as possible.
I’ve paid what made it past insurance, so I’m current on medical bills. I was just experiencing sticker shock yesterday.
I’m supposed to get another tree quote tomorrow. I’ve got two that’ve never called me back. I’m also waiting on a roof quote, and for the insurance adjuster to review for hail damage.
If all my insurance stuff comes through in my favor, I’ll be in good shape. Otherwise, I’ll have to take out a home equity loan, which I’d like to avoid.
Looking forward to some good financial news to end the year. If I get it, I’ll be in better shape than I started the year. Not many can say that. But I expect those that have a steady job with regular income, should be in better financial shape after this year.
I may be able to be out of debt except for the house in about 4 years, and the house a couple years after that. It’s the only way I can save up enough to afford to retire, or at least only work as much as I want to make ends meet.
