Day 22 Post-Op/Day 19 Home

Saturday, September 12, 2020 – POSTED: Monday, September 14, 2020

I got up once in the night about 3:30 am, but thankfully went right back to sleep until abut 7:30 am. I got up, showered, and shared the blog post for two days ago that I scheduled to publish today.

I had 3 views of my new video where I discuss my prostate cancer diagnosis. You can see it here.

Plans

I’ve got to get more groceries and do laundry today. I also want to do more videos and schedule them to post in coming weeks.

Bruises

The bruise on my left arm was faded, but this morning looks like an old faded bruise under the skin. I’d guess two or three more days for it to fade out completely. I can’t really tell about the one on my abdomen.

Abdomen

My abdomen is less tender and wearing pants is getting more comfortable, without having to undo them. Bending over to pick something up is also getting easier. I’m hoping for a lot more improvement in the next week. However, if it takes a week or two beyond that to be more or less “normal” I can wait. I’ve got the time. Life is good.

A week from today, I should be OK to start lifting more than twenty pounds. I plan to take it easy, as the last thing I want to do it hurt myself and need a surgery or be sidelined even longer.

Tasks

I got shopping taken care of and started organizing and tidying my office. I work from home and do all of my other hobbies from here. I’ve got a lot more to do, but with each bit of time put into it, it slowly takes the form I desire. That does a lot to reduce stress.

The icons on my computer desktop were too great in number, so I made folders for each category and really reduced the number of items on screen. Now do do the same with all the miscellaneous notes on my desk I’ve not had time to type up.

I got laundry done a bit later than usual. My dryer broke last year, and I’ve just been going to the laundromat. I had half my laundry in the truck and got sidetracked by organizing. I finally got the bedding together and went down and my truck was gone. So I had to wait for my son to get back. He went and got coffer for he and his wife.

When he was finally back, I took my laundry to my truck and the side was scratched up. I went back in and asked about it. The drive thru was too narrow and tight and he had no room to maneuver so he scraped it on a yellow cement post. I managed to buff out the paint and dirt from the post, but a couple spots took all the paint off. That added some stress. I don’t do well with that kind of surprise. I can’t change it, and am not sure how to fix it, or if I will fix it. I just press on and work on the other things I wanted to get done today, like this blog post and stuff for my RPG hobby.

I took a break and watched some TV then cleaned up notes on my desk. I typed them up and put them where I can find them to work on them later.

Organization and a clean desk really helps lower stress. I really let things go when I got my diagnosis, so now while I have the motivation, I’m going to keep chipping away at the clutter until I’ve overcome it all.
